Inka Trail
ITINERARY
Day 01 CUSCO (3,300 m) – WIÑAYWAYNA (2,700 m) – MACHU PICCHU (2,490 m)
Early in the morning pick up from your hotel, for transfer to the train station in Ollantaytambo (Sacred Valley); A train trip to the km. 104 where the trek starts. Immediately we visit the archaeological complex Chachabamba (m.s.n.m./7,382 located 2,250 ft). Here agricultural products to be brought to Machu Picchu were obtained. We continue the walk towards Wiñaywayna (2,700 m / 8,858 ft) where we will arrive approximately 2 hours later. On the way we will have beautiful views of the Urubamba River and will have the opportunity to appreciate different types of orchid’s semi-tropical forest. In Wiñaywayna we stop to visit this important archaeological site. After lunch we continue the trek to Machu Picchu, which we can appreciate distance from the Inti Punku (Puerta del Sol). We continue by bus to the town of Aguas Calientes (2,160 m / 7,087 ft) where we stay in a comfortable hostel. If we are not tired a lot, we can visit the thermal baths of the town (entry 10 Soles is not included in the tour).
02 Day MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO
After breakfast we board the bus to Machu Picchu (2,490 ft. M././8,169), very early to enjoy the sunrise in this beautiful place before the arrival of other tourists from Cusco. Guided tour of about 2 ½ hours followed by free time to enjoy this new wonder of the world regardless of Hayna Picchu or visit it’s Temple of the Moon (not included in the tour). Then we descend by bus to Aguas Calientes to take a lunch. In the afternoon we take a train to Poroy where we expected our driver with a private car to take us back to our hotel in Cusco (arrival at night).
