Day 01 :

Cusco – Cloud Forest – Paucartambo – Pilcopata

Early departure from Cusco by private vehicle. Travel through Andean valleys toward the charming colonial town of Paucartambo, known for its traditions and folklore.

Continue to Acjanaco Pass, the official entrance to Manu National Park. Descend into the lush cloud forest where mist-covered mountains, orchids, and waterfalls create a magical landscape.

Wildlife sightings may include the Andean cock-of-the-rock, monkeys, and colorful hummingbirds.

Arrival in Pilcopata in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight at a jungle lodge.

Day 02 :

Pilcopata – Atalaya – Machuwasi Lake – Paititi Lodge

After breakfast, drive to the port of Atalaya and board a motorized canoe along the Madre de Dios River.

Arrive at Paititi Lodge, your eco-lodge nestled in the rainforest. After settling in, head to Machuwasi Lake on a traditional raft canoe. Glide quietly through this oxbow lake searching for hoatzins, herons, monkeys, and possibly giant river otters.

In the evening, enjoy a guided night walk to observe insects, frogs, tarantulas, and caimans.

Overnight at Paititi Lodge.

Day 03 :

Parrots Clay Lick – Optional Lake Maravilla

Rise early for one of the Amazon’s most colorful natural events — the Parrots Clay Lick. Dozens of parrots and parakeets gather on the riverbank to feed on mineral-rich clay, creating a vibrant and unforgettable spectacle.

Return to the lodge for breakfast.

Later, enjoy guided jungle walks to learn about medicinal plants and rainforest ecology.

Optional (Extended Exploration): Visit Lake Maravilla, a deeper rainforest excursion offering further wildlife observation and pristine jungle scenery.

Day 04 :

Paititi Lodge – Atalaya – Cusco

After breakfast, take a final short jungle walk before returning by boat to Atalaya.

Begin the scenic drive back to Cusco, ascending through the cloud forest once more. Keep an eye out for wildlife along the way.

Arrival in Cusco in the evening, concluding your unforgettable Amazon expedition.
