Machu Picchu Full-Day by Expedition Train

Your day begins with early hotel pick-up in Cusco and transfer to the train station.

Board the Expedition train, featuring large windows and comfortable seating. As the train follows the Urubamba River, admire spectacular Andean valleys, small villages, and lush cloud forest scenery.

Arrive in Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Pueblo) and take the shuttle bus up the winding mountain road to the entrance of Machu Picchu.

Enter the sanctuary with your professional guide, who will lead you through its most important areas, including the agricultural terraces, the Temple of the Sun, the Main Plaza, the Sacred Rock, and panoramic viewpoints overlooking the entire citadel. Learn about Inca engineering, astronomy, spirituality, and daily life as you walk through this mystical stone city surrounded by green peaks and drifting mist.

After approximately 2–2.5 hours of guided exploration, descend by bus to Aguas Calientes where you’ll have free time for lunch (optional).

In the afternoon, board the Expedition train back to the Sacred Valley and transfer to Cusco, arriving in the evening.
